Suppliers can sell credits through a number of channels, including:
  1. An official Order Form for an offtake
  2. Third party marketplaces or intermediaries
  3. Stripe checkout page
This doc focuses on the Stripe checkout page, that enables suppliers to sell Isometric verified credits direct to buyers. The Stripe checkout handles all payment flows and orders will be automatically created in your organization’s account. It is then at the supplier’s discretion to deliver these credits to the buyer against this order.

How it works

  1. Suppliers needs their own Stripe account and will sell directly, with Isometric taking a verification fee at point of purchase.
  2. Once a user has purchased through the checkout, it is then up to the Supplier to deliver credits. This can be done with credits that have already been issued (i.e. spot credits) or with future credits issued to the supplier.
  3. Any orders created through Stripe will be generated as ‘retire on delivery’. This means that as soon as the credits are delivered against the order, they will be automatically retired on behalf of the buyer and the buyer will be notified of the retirement.
  4. Suppliers must sell at a fixed price per tonne.

Connect your Stripe account

Click the Start onboarding button on the Stripe settings page and complete the Stripe onboarding.

Provide information

Let Isometric know the following information:
  • Price per tonne you are planning to sell at
  • Delivery deadline for orders (e.g. 2 years)
  • Success URL — where to send users once they have completed a purchase
  • Cancel URL — where to send users if they drop out of the purchase flow

Embed an iframe on your website

Isometric will generate an iframe using the template below:Stripe checkoutSuppliers can request the colours and font used in the iframe to match the branding of your website; contact our team to update this.Paste the snippet into your website source code or CMS and publish your webpage.

Sell credits

You are now set up to start selling credits through your account. You will be paid into your Stripe account at the point of purchase and an order will automatically be created in your Isometric account ready for you to deliver credits.Any purchases will include an Isometric verification fee in line with our Buyer pays model.Buyers are able to make use of a range of Stripe supported payment methods, including card payment, bank transfer and Apple pay. They will receive a confirmation email of their purchase, with a link directing them to the Isometric Registry.
