In all cases, guidance provided in the Isometric Standard, Protocols and Modules is authoritative.

How does Isometric select the VVB for my project?

Isometric contracts and pays the VVB on your behalf. We will run a public request for proposals (RFP) that any onboarded Validation and Verification Body (VVB) can bid on. We then select the VVB for your project based on the VVB’s:
  • Knowledge of your project’s pathway and processes.
  • Familiarity with the region your project operates in.
  • Availability to meet your project’s timelines, and speed and quality of work.
  • Pricing proposal.
Once contracting is finalized, Isometric will introduce a Supplier to the appointed VVB for a Validation kickoff. See Site visits. The approved VVB list is published on the governance policies page. VVBs must meet ISO and other external standards, plus Isometric’s own internal standards for pathway-specific expertise.

Can I contract the VVB directly myself?

No: Isometric contracts and pays the VVB, so the verifier has no financial relationship with the project developer. This independence is an important pillar to support the integrity of certificates issued under the Isometric Standard. Suppliers may express a preference for a specific VVB, for example if they have known expertise in the project’s approach. In these cases, Supplier preference will be considered among the selection criteria in the competitive RFP, as long as the organization satisfies other criteria with their bid.
